Pendant que l'Équipe des Libéraux Fédéraux sont en campagne Promotionnelle de la vaccination, constestée par certains, des enfants.... Des Groupes de Support à la communauté Autocthones en Colombie-Britannique qui a été évincée par la GRC-RCPM au Camp Coyote dans le but de libérer le passer la construction d'un pipeline dont la Banque Royale du Canada en est un des bailleur$ de fond$... Des démarchez du gouvernement du canada qui est diamétralement opposé aux discours rhétoriques de la ''Grande Réconcilation'' avec les autochtones et de la lutte aux changements climatiques...

Une situation qui a été largement ignorée par les médias subventionnés, mais qui fraye graduellement son chemin vers l'opinion publique outrée d'une situation qui en outre plusieurs...

Une altercation a même éclaté hier entre des policiers et des manifestants

Près de deux ans après leur dernier coup d’éclat, une soixantaine de manifestants ont complètement bloqué un important lien ferroviaire sur la Rive-Sud de Montréal, samedi, en soutien à des Autochtones.

Dès 9 h 30, les gens ont obstrué les rails du Canadien National (CN), à Saint-Lambert, avec des morceaux de bois. Ils se sont ensuite installés sur la voie ferrée en écoutant des chansons et en allumant des feux. De nombreux policiers les observaient.

« On va perturber l’économie canadienne en bloquant les rails ici jusqu’à ce que la Gendarmerie royale du Canada quitte le territoire Wet’suwet’en et tant que la construction du gazoduc Coastal GasLink se poursuivra en Colombie-Britannique », affirme Marianne Côté, une militante au blocus.

Elle est la seule du groupe qui a accepté de discuter avec Le Journal, samedi.

Cette manifestation a été organisée par des allochtones qui se disent « alliés » des peuples autochtones. La dernière fois qu’un tel blocage a eu lieu à Saint-Lambert, c’est en février 2020. Il avait duré trois jours.

« Anticolonialisme, solidarité avec les peuples qui résistent », ont scandé les protestataires, qui avaient aussi apporté une banderole où on pouvait lire « shut down kkkanada ».

Selon Mme Côté, c’est l’arrestation de 14 membres de la communauté Wet’suwet’en le 20 novembre en Colombie-Britannique qui a ramené le conflit dans l’actualité.

Violente altercation

Plusieurs automobilistes ont d’ailleurs lancé des insultes aux manifestants.

« Réglez ça vite, les policiers, si ce n’est pas des Autochtones, qu’ils crissent leur camp de Saint-Lambert », a hurlé l’un d’entre eux.

La police du CN et le Service de police de l’agglomération de Longueuil (SPAL) ont tenté à plusieurs reprises de convaincre le groupe de quitter les lieux.

Vers 13 h 30, deux militants ont voulu apporter une boîte de nourriture sur la voie ferrée. Toutefois, ils ont été confrontés à un barrage d’agents du SPAL. Une violente altercation avec les policiers a éclaté, mais personne n’a été blessé.

Trois trains arrêtés

Le blocage ferroviaire a subitement pris fin vers 15 h, soit moins de six heures après son commencement.

Les participants ont quitté la manifestation de leur plein gré et de façon pacifique.

Au moins trois trains de marchandises ont dû faire marche arrière puisque les rails étaient bloqués, selon nos observations.

De son côté, le CN s’est limité à indiquer qu’il « suit la situation de près », sans s’avancer sur les mesures qu’il compte prendre, incluant une éventuelle injonction pour déloger les manifestants lors d’un prochain blocus.''

MONTREAL -- Quebec protestors erected a blockade Saturday morning across a strip of Canadian National (CN) rail south of Montreal in solidarity with Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs in the midst of an ongoing standoff with the RCMP and a major oil and gas company in B.C.

The protestors described themselves in a Saturday press release as non-Indigenous "settler allies who stand in solidarity with Indigenous peoples who are defending their territories from colonial violence and industrial destruction."

The protest began at 9:30 a.m. in Saint-Lambert, Que., a city on Montreal's South Shore. It was one of several protest actions in recent weeks -- a trend which will continue "for as long as the RCMP remains on the territory of the Wet’suwet’en and the construction of the Coastal GasLink pipeline continues” said one of the blockade participants, Marianne Côté, in the release.

CTV reached Côté while she was still on the tracks. She says spirits were high as the protest grew to a group of around 60 people. Signage and debris had been placed on the tracks, and a metal drum had been fashioned into a make-shift fireplace.

She said protesters saw several trains approach the blockade, stop, and hit reverse. CN said in a statement it was aware of the blockade, but did not specify whether it was disrupting service.

The Wet'suwet’en hereditary chiefs, who are the traditional leaders of the territory are standing in opposition of a pipeline being built by Coastal Gaslink, despite it being approved by the elected council. In November, Mounties in northern B.C. said they were enforcing an injunction barring protests from blocking an access road used by Coastal GasLink pipeline workers. Several people were arrested, including two journalists.

The 670-kilometre pipeline will transport natural gas from Northern B.C. Coastal Gaslink says construction is more than halfway done. Kahnawake, the Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) community also on Montreal's South Shore, held a rolling blockade in late-November on a prominant stretch of highway.

Supporters in London gathered to show solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en people on Friday night, who are fighting a natural gas pipeline project in British Columbia.

The rally, titled Allies in Solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en, happened at 6 p.m. across from the Aeolian Hall where Indigenous singer-songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie was scheduled to play later that night.

Around 40 people came out to show their support and listen to two Mohawk activists who had recently travelled out to the Gidimt’en checkpoint in northern B.C. to stand in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en.

The two were among those arrested at the most recent blockade that was taken down by RCMP.

“I have seen river poisoned, I have seen a river contaminated beyond repair, so when I saw this pristine, untouched, alive water source I know we had to do something to protect it,” said Mohawk activist Layla Staats.

Staats said she has been working on a documentary about water and boiled water advisories on reserves, which is what prompted her to want to go out to the camp with fellow members of her community.

“This is not just about their river, this is not just this fight, this is not just them alone, and we are all standing together to say this is not right, to say there is no consent, and when we say no it needs to be heard.”

The Morice River, which runs through the territory, is still considered to be a clean water source by those in the area and is a large part of the Wet’suwet’en people’s fight against a pipeline going through the area.

Mohawk activist Skyler Williams described the feeling of being in a place where the water is so clean you can drink directly from it. “It’s something worth fighting for,” Williams said.

“The lands we are on right now are borrowed. We borrow these land from future generations, so whatever we can do to stand for those lands or to stand for those waters and certainly to stand for each other.”
