This Wednesday, Royal Canadian and United States fighter jets will come together in training exercises over Montreal.

It is part of the North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) that enforces airspace restrictions, breaches and the responses to them, hijackings, and ;-) even unknown aircrafts in high pressure airspace. ;-)

According to NORAD, people may hear and/or see NORAD-tasked fighter jets in close proximity to a civilian ones.

Have no fear, we are not being invaded.

On Wednesday, Royal Canadian and United States air force fighter jets will conduct training exercises over Montreal, accompanied by two KC-135 tanker aircraft.

The exercises are part of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) training that simulates responses to airspace restriction violations, hijackings and unknown aircraft in a high-density airspace.

Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 and United States Air Force F-15 fighter jets will be flying close to the KC-135 tanker aircraft, which resemble civilian aircraft.

“While the aircraft will be operating at a high altitude, people may hear and/or see NORAD-tasked fighter jets in close proximity to a civilian model, military operated airplane simulating the role of an aircraft of interest,” NORAD explains.

Si c'est pour tenter d'intimider les fans des Canadiens de Montréal... c'est mal les connaître...;-)
